Enjoying Spring

I just love this time of year, but when you think about it, have you ever heard anyone say that they didn't? I haven't! It seems that this spring has been a long time coming in many areas, but it is truly here and we're enjoying it so very much.  The pop of colors.  Especially the greens.  So many different shades this time of year.  The newer leaves are lighter greens and the brand spanking new ones a a beautiful shade of apple green.  We're listening not only to the adult birds but tiny babies still in the nests begging for food.  Things are coming up in the veggie gardens.  We have small raised beds as there are just two of us to feed, but it's still exciting to see what we have planted popping through the soil.  The Hummingbirds are many and we have quite a show going on. Especially early morning and late evening.  Seems that's when they all come at once.

We had a wonderful day yesterday.  Bill, Dave and I went to down town New Bern just to poke about and the three of us always have a great time together.  Lots of good conversation and lots of laughs as well.  The Spanish Moss is thick this year it seems and it looks so pretty.  A couple of pictures to share from yesterday.

I did finish the little Amazing Grace piece and just made it into a small pillow to put with my other spring stitching display.  It did up quickly at 10 total hours, which seems like a lot for this sweet chart, but that's what it took and it's an enjoyable stitch as well.

Have done a couple more letters and a few other stitches on Quaker Diamonds.  This is a good sized piece, and it seems that I'm just creeping along with it, but I'm super enjoying it.  Love all the colors.  I keep sneaking in the other smaller pieces as well.

I'm doing up another small piece, but I'm not going to say what it is, as it will be a gift once done.  I did want to show you the beautiful colors in it though, and say that it is working up quickly.  Once finished and sent out, I'll add a finished photo.

I see that some of my followers at my old blog has found me.  I'm so pleased about that.  I also see some new friends.  Wonderful! I love people and love making friends.  Welcome to all and come visit often.

I must let you all go for now.  I hope you're all enjoying this spring as much as I am.  If nothing else, at lease go outside and sit for just a few short minutes each day.  Enjoy the sunshine.

Love you all.  Until next time, stay safe and well, and, "Don't forget to feel the colors".

Old Friends Back and New Too!

I'm so glad to see that some of my followers and friends from my first blog, "Cross'N My Stitches" has found me here.  Welcome back! I am also meeting new followers as well and I'm loving it! I love people and love making friends.  So glad that you're all here.  Could you all mention in a post on your own blogs that I have moved here? Maybe that would help get the word out.
The weather has been warming up nicely in these parts and I have my herb garden cleaned out. I'm sure I'll be picking up a couple of new herbs to try, but right now the perennial herbs are doing well, and a few new that I put in are looking good.  Here's a for now picture, and in a few weeks, I know we'll all be amazed at how much everything has grown.

I'm getting ready to relax this evening and finish up "Amazing Grace".  Just the border is needing to be stitched and it's a simple one.  So my next post will have a picture of the finish.

I did knit up another face cloth and I also found a box of pretty little, smell nice soaps to go with my cloths.  Will wrap a cloth around one of the soaps and tie it up with a ribbon.  Here's the one I just finished, along with the soaps.

Also picked up another two skeins of yarn for a couple more in a different color.  Now, instead of making one of each color, I make two.  One to give away and one to keep!  Found more tiny soaps that smell pretty also.  Here's one last picture for you. One of these will make up in an evening, so

they're quick and easy to make.  I enjoy making them.

Time for me to close up here for the night now.  Love you all.  Until next time, stay safe an well and "feel the colors".

Had To Change My Blog

After days of trying to find out why I couldn't get into my old blog, "Cross'N My Stitches", I decided I had to open a different blog all together.  I am hoping very much, that all my dear friends and followers from Cross'N My Stitches, will eventually find me.  I had my blog for nearly four years, and it breaks my heart to not be able to post there any longer.  So join me here instead and we can pick right back up where we left off.  Please pass the word to your friends also that I'm here now.  Thank you so much.
I decided to put my Quaker Diamonds down for a few hours and do this piece up for Easter Day.  Easter season actually or year round.  It's a quick and easy stitch designed by Bonny Woomer, and it comes from "The Nebby Needle".  The colors that it calls for gives it an antique look.  Well, kinda sorta! I love it.

We had such a beautiful day here yesterday.  We went out to Beaufort to a small flea market and local artisans get together.  Lovely things.  Oh! It was also a local plant sale as well.  All plants came from local home owner's gardens.  Earlier in the season, they will take pieces from the plants they have, as well as trees and shrubs and get them started.  Then when an event like this comes up, they will sell the new little plants.  Did I leave empty handed? No way! I got a few more herbs as well as a couple more plants.
Below is a picture of a tulip bed we saw on the way back to our car.  It was just so colorful that I just had to take the picture.  Aren't they beautiful?

On Friday we went in the opposite direction and into New Bern.  Went through a walking path around the water and got some nice pictures of the beautiful Wisteria that is in bloom now.  It's considered a nuisance plant down here, but I love it still and even have a tiny tree of it in the back yard.  Just a year old now, but about three feet high.  Pictures below were taken at the park in New Bern.  That's my Bill in the last one.

Now I must let you go.  Once again, I do hope that all my old followers and friends will catch up with me, and I welcome all new followers.  Until next time, be safe and well and don't forget to
"Feel the colors".
